Hi! I'm Alai Ganuza :) a contemporary oil painter. “Alai” in basque means “happy”, and that’s precisely what I want to convey with my paintings :)

After thinking realism as the absolute "goal" in painting, I realised that it wasn't sayisfying me at all. Not accepting I was attending the Fine Arts degree with that bitter feeling, I decided to paint daily for myself to find out why. And that is when I started to find joy in painting. I began by experimenting with colours, bigger and looser brushwork, and it was... fun! 

My vision of reality changed for good and I wish yours to change too. I hope this painting helps you see the life around you with brighter eyes :)
