I discovered Alai at an art fair in London in July 2024. I feel in love with her artwork and creative style - vibrant, modern, and welcoming - and it seemed to reflect Alai herself, who came across as a bubbly and joyous person, handing out free stickers.
One piece I was particularly drawn to was 'Fridge Colors (Expanding Fridge Universe)' - it's an inviting and warm piece that truly reminds you of those times when you are hungry for a snack and open up the fridge to find it fully stocked and ready to satisfy your cravings. When I saw that the piece was available for purchase as a limited edition print in early 2025, I was very happy and had no second thoughts about purchasing.
The print arrived quickly through international shipping and was perfectly packaged with protective cardboard. There was even a little note from Alai herself with a little surprise gift. The print is actually a birthday present for my mum, who was equally enamoured with Alai's work at the art fair, so I cannot wait to see her reaction to the present. I know she will love it just as much as I do.
