Creating this hand-painted cat portrait was a special experience, as the client (Shuyuan) is a returning collector who already owns one of my signature "Egg Couple" paintings. For this custom oil painting, we chose a focused headshot on an 8x8 wood panel to emphasize the unique architecture of the British Shorthair breed. We worked closely on the details, including a specific adjustment to ensure his left cheek felt perfectly "puffy" and round, resulting in a luminous likeness that feels both accurate and artistically bold.

I utilized a palette of soft pinks, deep purples, and electric teals to create chromatic depth within his light fur. By applying the professional oil paint with my signature thick impasto technique, I gave the fur a buttery texture and a three-dimensional presence.
