This memorial commission captures the soulful legacy of Tabby, created as a vibrant tribute to sit alongside her memory in a home filled with art and love.
A Collaborative Tribute Between Artists
This custom oil painting was a deeply personal project created for a fellow artist in Santa Barbara. To honor Tabby, we focused on capturing her iconic tricolor features through a chromatic multiverse of light and shadow. Because this piece was designed to sit on a narrow memorial table next to her ashes, the color palette was carefully chosen to harmonize with the space. We transitioned from natural tones to luminous oranges and magentas to reflect the joy and levity she brought to her family for so many years.
Every brushstroke on this handmade wood panel is a study in high-contrast color theory. By identifying the spectral highlights in her eyes and the neon-infused shadows within her dark fur, the artist transformed a favorite photograph into a 3D experience. The use of thick impasto and a buttery texture ensures that the painting feels alive, providing a striking, permanent focal point that celebrates Tabby's spirit through modern expressionism.
