Look through the artist's eyes with "The Artist's Gaze," an intimate digital self-portrait study.
For this piece, I applied my traditional oil-painting color theory and structural brushwork directly to the digital canvas. This close-up study of my own eye explores the complexity of light, featuring a vibrant chartreuse green iris complete with studio window reflections dancing in the pupil.
Even though this is a digital medium, I wanted to preserve the raw energy of my physical work. The skin tones and deep purple lashes are built using sharp, blocky digital strokes that mimic physical impasto, interlaced with unexpected patches of lavender, soft mint, and warm terracotta.
