Capturing a Spontaneous Moment

This piece was a fun exercise in combining different memories into one cohesive scene. I worked closely with the collector to mesh several photos together, making sure to get every detail just right. I focused on creating a specific look for the hair, making it soft and fluffy, and adjusted the poses to feel spontaneous and full of life. The goal was to take a series of blurry, candid snapshots and elevate them into a bold piece of art that feels as tactile as a physical oil painting.

I used a palette dominated by intense pinks and reds to match the romantic theme. Even though I painted this digitally, I kept my signature style with thick, visible brushstrokes and high-contrast highlights. I spent a lot of time on the details that make the story real, like the individual lipstick marks on the face and the specific way the light hits the eyes. This commission was also designed to be versatile, so I provided separate files for matching social media profile pictures and small cards for a wallet, making it a truly personal gift.
