I can’t say enough good things about AlaiGanuza and her beautiful work!

My daughter originally commissioned Alai to paint a portrait of our dog, but unfortunately lost it during a move and was heartbroken. I reached out to Alai to recreate the painting as a surprise for my daughter. While she was working on it, we sadly lost our dog, which made the new painting even more special and meaningful.

Alai was so thoughtful throughout the process, and the finished painting is absolutely beautiful. I actually think the second one is even better than the first! My daughter and I couldn’t be happier.

It did take some time, but it was definitely worth the wait. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day! 😊 I loved the painting so much that I’ve already asked my daughter to get me a print of it as a gift for the holidays.

Such a talented artist and a truly special piece of art. Highly recommend!

Alai's retreat was magical! San Sebastian was the perfect place for it: we had the beauty of the sea and mountains, the convenience of being in/near a city that was easy to get around in, and the wonderful basque culture (including pintxos!). The hotel was lovely, modern, and clean. The food at the hotel was a B+/A- for me. Most of it was fresh and delicious, but a few of the meals were not my thing. All of the desserts were amazing.

The painting sessions were my favorite part. Alai's instruction was easy to follow and it ALWAYS made my paintings better. I've learned so much from her and my use of color has improved 1000%. Her kindness, upbeat attitude, and sense of humor made for an open, accepting, and fun workspace. The women on the trip were also amazing--supportive, fun, and talented--and I would travel with them again in a heartbeat.

Alai had lots of very cool surprises for us throughout the trip. I won't spoil it for future retreaters, but they were great! Her staff was also so fun, attentive, and helpful. When the airline lost my luggage, everyone pitched in to offer clothes for me until I got my bag.

Everyone was sad to be going home at the end of the retreat--that pretty much says it all!

Alai is a beautiful creative soul that continually showed how much she cares about thosw who come to learn with her duering the entire workshop.

I had a wondeful time and learned so much. If you wanted to go but couldn't, grab her course asap - it is far more indepth and incredible than a two day workshop. Alai is an amzimg teacher.

I discovered Alai at an art fair in London in July 2024. I feel in love with her artwork and creative style - vibrant, modern, and welcoming - and it seemed to reflect Alai herself, who came across as a bubbly and joyous person, handing out free stickers.

One piece I was particularly drawn to was 'Fridge Colors (Expanding Fridge Universe)' - it's an inviting and warm piece that truly reminds you of those times when you are hungry for a snack and open up the fridge to find it fully stocked and ready to satisfy your cravings. When I saw that the piece was available for purchase as a limited edition print in early 2025, I was very happy and had no second thoughts about purchasing.

The print arrived quickly through international shipping and was perfectly packaged with protective cardboard. There was even a little note from Alai herself with a little surprise gift. The print is actually a birthday present for my mum, who was equally enamoured with Alai's work at the art fair, so I cannot wait to see her reaction to the present. I know she will love it just as much as I do.
